U10s youth Match reports
8th September 2007
Wilden Warriors 2 Ferndale Youth 0
Ferndale got of to a slow start against a flowing wilden warriors team and soon found themselves down by 2 early goals one of which was a massive deflection which gave the goalkeeper no chance to save it.
the coach then at half time changed the team around which totally changed the whole tempo of the game and for most of the second half the ball didn't really enter Ferndale's half of the pitch
sadly we could not get a goal back but had 2 chances cleared of the line and another come of the inside of the crossbar, a great deal has being learnt from this opening game of the season and they boys are really up for the next game which is against Worcester colts who are a big strong team. COME ON LADS
Ferndale youth u 10s VS. Worcester colts 11 am kick off 0-9 (FINAL SCORE)
Worcester colts were straight out of the blocks as soon as the whistle was blown, but sadly Ferndale could not get going.
we seemed to be chasing shadows for all of the game against a fantastic colts team that on that form will take some beating, credit to them and also credit to our lads for keeping on going through a difficult game, we hope a great deal has being learnt from this result and we are looking forward to a good game against bewdley town
GOOD LUCK LADS AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
CRAIG GORDON ANDY
Ferndale youth V Wyre forest panthers
1-2 final score
we have had a bad start to the season with four losses and the boys seem to have lost there confidence but in this game they all seemed to relax and get into the game
the first half we let in to goals but in the second half we got a goal back but couldn't get the second, but we are very pleased with the lads battling and some super movement, I am looking forward to the next game which is a tough game against Kidderminster harries under 10s
Ferndale youth V Kidderminster harriers 2-2
once again we got to a shaky start looked really nervous and soon found ourselves down by a goal, then they had a massive deflection which gave our keeper no chance of saving, 2 down within 15 minutes.
at half time we made a few changes and within minutes pulled a great goal back , then the boys seemed to relax and some great football was being played, the we scored another so the 10 minutes of the game we really pushed for the third, there kept pulled of three fantastic saves so the game finished 2-2
well done lads this is our first point of the season and more to the point we look really good
the next game is at home against Kidderminster harriers again and the kick of is at 11.00 am
10/11/07
Kidderminster lions v Ferndale youth under 10s 3-3
Ferndale got of to a great start with a great goal but soon after that the lions started to flood through us and soon scored a goal followed soon by a second. at half time we changed a few things in our defence which totally changed the whole tempo of the game.soon after half time we scored another goal but soon after that the battling lions score a third, but our boys had far from given up and pushed forward and got the equaliser.the last few minutes the game could have gone either way but at the final whistle it ended up 3 - 3 what a good game
we are so so proud of Ferndale youth as they are really trying hard and are looking forward to the next game, confidence is very high as we have scored 7 goals in the last three games
we done boys and keep up the excellent work
kick off was 11.00am
17/11/2007
Ferndale youth 0 Kidderminster lions 8
the lions were a very fast and flowing team as we soon found out, we could not get them out of our half ,it was as if every time the had the ball they scored, we seemed to always be second to the ball and our challenges were at times not the best we seemed quite slow and nervous.our goalkeeper had a great game otherwise it would have being a lot more
what else can I say we need to be a lot more committed and passionate about our game and get stuck in more, all the lads in the team can do it but yesterday was not the case, I will not point the finger at any individual because it is a team and that is what we must build around
the final score was 0 - 8 well done to the lions
Ferndale youth V warndon sharks- Postponed Due To Frozen Pitch
kick off was 10 am
both sets of teams were there at about 9.10 and we had a good look at the pitch which was very frosty and hard, we decided to get the kids warmed up and inspect it again at 9.45
we walked the pitch again and decided to call the game off in the interest of the children's welfare and safety.mr.pollett was informed
