FERNDALE WIN A CLASSIC
Ferndale 3 Mostyn 2-- After Extra Time

Ferndale ladies beat Mostyn Rangers 3-2 after extra time in a classic Cup tie to
go through to the League Cup final on May 4th.
The match was very even but on 15 mins Ferndale last Leah Wilcox with a broken
leg from a fair tackle with the goalkeeper, once the ambulance had taken Leah to
the hospital and 20 mins later it was decided to continue with the game. Ferndale
went on to open the scoring through Tracey Haycock on 35 mins followed by
Leah's sub Jo Insley which put Ferndale 2 goals ahead at half time.
The second half saw Mostyn fight back, Mid way through the second half they
scored there first goal with 2 mins left Ferndale hit the bar but well in to stopage
time Mostyn equalised. The first period of extra time was even, as was the second
half but with 2 mins to go Sarah Hayden scored from 22 yards anf sealed a final
place for Ferndale. The game was a great advert for ladies football, 2 good sides,
many injuries on both sides and all weathers even snow, and still good humoured
at the end of the game.
Ferndale would like to thank Mostyn for their follow up concern on Leah Wilcox
who is now in a full leg cast it is most appreciated.

Ferndale entertained their League cup Final opponents KGV, and came out victors with a 9-0 scoreline. Tracy Haycock opened the scoring on 3 mins, Sarah Hayden scored 2, KGV then suffered 2 loses so went down to 9 players after injury then Alison Discomb on 45 mins made it 4-0 at half time.
The second half saw Sarah Hayden complete her hat-trick on 55 mins then again on 57 mins, Sudstitute Lucy McLoughlin back from injury scored on 68 mins. Bex Meredith made it 8-0 with a 25 yrd screamer, Sarah then made it a 5 star performance with her 5th goal on 87 mins.
Ferndale rest this Sunday but play Ross Town on Tuesday 22 April at Bewdley Town FC kick off at 7.15
Its close at the top with Ferndale, Mostyn and Ross still fighting for the league title.
CUP JOY FOR LADIES
Ferndale v KGV 6-0

On Thusday 1st May Ferndale entertained Worc,s City Reserves in the semi final
of the Soccer Site Cup a 6-0 victory ensured their place in the final which will take
place on Sunday 11th May at Malvern Town FC against Ross Strikers.
On Sunday 4th May Ferndale played KGVin the Womans County Cup Final at
Stourport Swifts. With a full strengh squad Ferndale ran out 6-0 victors to pick
up their first silverware of the season. Three goals from Sarah Hayden in the first half
gave Ferndale a comfortable lead.
The second half saw sub Lucy McLoughlin score a quick fire goal just 2 mins in then
Alison Discomb scored the goal of the game on 81 mins with Lucy scoring on 82 mins
Vicky Hyde was chosen as player of the game by the commitee.
Ferndale play in two more finals this week on Thursday 8th at Aggborough against
Mostyn Rangers in the Hospital Cup and on Sunday against Ross at Malvern Town
in the Soccersite Cup.

This week saw Ferndale play their last 2 league games on Tueaday evening the 22nd
they played a strong Ross Strikers side and drew 3-3 which put them top of the table
on goal differance then on Sunday 27th Ferndale played Their last league game against
Malvern Town and won 2-0 which puts them 3 points clear above Mostyn Rangers, who
have a game in hand which is against Ross Town date to be confirmed.
Ferndale entertain Worcester City in the semi final of the Soccer Site Cup on Thursday
evening at Mill Lane and have their first cup final on Sunday 4th at Stourport Swifts
against KGV.
